Lauren + Dylan // The Press Hotel // Cathedral of the Immaculate // Portland Maine Wedding

Portland is becoming one of my favorite cities to film a wedding.  It has so much fun character.  Lauren and Dylan started their day at the really cool Press Hotel.  I love the vibe of that place and I knew that this was going to be an amazing wedding the instant we got there.

Lauren and Dylan have an incredible relationship with their family.  It was so clear from the speeches and interactions we saw all day that family was so important.  The toast that is at the end of this wedding is one of my favorites for sure (don't be afraid to bring a tissue) and the speech that clearly represents how important family really is.

The Landing at Pine Point is a gem for a reception.  From what I gathered it is a remodeled church, so it's got an amazing stage (for the Groove Alliance to kill it on stage) and beautiful vaulted ceilings.

Enjoy their story!

What Happens Next?

Cinematic Wedding Story? Wedding Video? A Trailer? What does it all mean!? Don’t worry – we know a lot of these terms are new to you. We are here to help guide you through all lingo!  Please see below for an example of each type of wedding cinematic videos that we offer.

Cinematic Wedding Story

This is the film to get excited about!  At its core this is your story.  Sure it uses some fancy camera shots, color editing and sound, but without a story it’s all just pretty images.  Our focus is always your story and what makes you unique.

Wedding Highlight Film

A Wedding Highlight Film is an exciting way to share a quick look at your wedding day.  This is a 4-6 minute wedding film that highlights some of the best moments of your wedding.  This includes online hosting so it is something that you can easily share online with a click of button to friends and family.

Wedding Trailer

This is a fun sneak peek of your wedding.  When you get back from your honeymoon (within a week), you’ll have a quick trailer so you can see a bit of what your wedding film will look like.

Same Day Looper

This is so much fun!  We take moments from your wedding day and play it at your reception.  That's right, you get to see video footage on the same day as your wedding!  So much fun for all your friends and family to see you getting ready during your wedding party!

Documentary Film

We have a huge passion for telling your story in a way that is emotional and fun to watch for the rest of your life.  While the Cinematic Weddings Story is our favorite way to tell that story and it is the style we are filming at your wedding, we understand that there are times when you want to see your wedding in its entirety.  With every wedding we do include a documentary film to fill that desire.  It is all the big moments for you to go back and watch in their entirety.

Traditions

We absolutely love filming and photographing weddings. Those stories are some of our favorites, but journey of marriage only starts at the wedding. Stories and traditions that continue after the wedding day are fascinating. Lori and I (Daniel) have one such tradition.

We just celebrated our second anniversary! We were married on May 4, 2012 and no, we did not have a Star Wars wedding. I don't think either one of us realized the significance of the fourth until after the fact. I'm a bit of a nerd at heart so I enjoyed the movies, but I don't think Lori has even seen all of them.

We Eat Cake

At our wedding we had a small cake for us and we used cupcakes as our centerpieces for everyone else to enjoy as dessert. The top of our wedding cake sat in our freezer for a year. On our first anniversary we were allowed to eat the cake, as tradition goes. You can see what happened below!
